FAITH

Faith is the cornerstone of the Knights Templar. Every Knight is expected to demonstrate a steadfast devotion to God and the teachings of Christ in both word and deed. The original medieval Templars were warrior-monks with “an unwavering commitment to faith,” praying regularly and viewing their mission as a sacred duty.

CHIVALRY & COURAGE

Every Masonic Templar is called to exemplify Chivalry, the code of conduct associated with noble knights. In medieval times, chivalry meant bravery in battle, loyalty to comrades, protection of the weak, and unfailing courtesy. Today’s Templars translate those ideals into moral courage, charity, and brotherly kindness.

DUTY

HONOUR & INTEGRITY

For the Knights Templar, Honor is the very fibre of knighthood. In days of old, a knight’s honour was his reputation for virtue, honesty, and courage; if he broke his vows or acted dishonourably, he lost his standing. Likewise, a modern Templar Mason is expected to uphold the highest moral integrity in every aspect of life. The precepts of the Order demand honesty, fidelity, and personal responsibility.
