Website Terms & Conditions

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Knights Templar Worcestershire Provincial Priory website (the “Site”) and any purchases or donations made through it.

By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are under 18 years old, you should have a parent or guardian read and discuss these Terms with you before using the Site. We may update or amend these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on the Site; any changes will apply from the date of posting (except that orders already accepted will remain subject to the Terms in effect at the time of sale). You should check the Site regularly to review the current Terms, as continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of any changes.

Use of the Website

The Site and its content are provided free of charge for informational, educational and e‑commerce purposes. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You agree not to use the Site or its content for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Site’s operation or reputation. We may suspend, withdraw, discontinue or change the Site (or any part of it) without notice, and we will not be liable if the Site or any part of it is unavailable at any time. You are responsible for ensuring your internet connection is secure and up-to-date; we do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Without user accounts or login credentials, the Site is open to all visitors. By placing an order or donating, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have the authority to enter into a binding contract. Children under 18 may browse the Site but cannot make purchases or donations without adult supervision.

E-commerce Terms

The Site offers three primary e-commerce services: (a) Merchandise and goods sales, (b) Event ticketing, and (c) Charitable donations.

Merchandise and Goods:

All product prices are in GBP and (where applicable) include UK VAT and postage, as indicated. Orders are subject to availability and acceptance by us. To place an order, you must provide accurate product details, quantities and any options (size, colour, etc.) via our order form. Payment is typically processed securely through an online payment gateway on our Site. Once your order form and payment are received and cleared, we will dispatch the items as soon as possible. We reserve the right to substitute equivalent items or refund any price difference if a product becomes unavailable. Risk of loss or damage to goods passes to you on delivery. Title to goods passes to you when we dispatch them. Any goods you purchase are sold subject to your statutory rights, which are not affected by these Terms.

Consumers in the UK generally have a 14-day cancellation right (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) for goods contracts. However, this right has exceptions. You cannot cancel if the goods are perishable, made to your specifications or personalised, or consist of unsealed hygiene items once opened (e.g. custom regalia, engraved gifts, or sealed face masks). You must request cancellation and return goods in original condition within 14 days of delivery; the right to cancel ends at the point the goods are delivered. If you do exercise a cancellation right, we will refund your payment (excluding any reasonable return postage) within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or proof of return. For clarity, we encourage you to check product descriptions carefully before ordering.

Event Tickets:

Tickets purchased for specific events (such as meetings, ceremonies or lectures) are contracts for services on a specified date. Under UK law, tickets for events on specific dates are not eligible for automatic cancellation or refund simply because you change your mind. If the event organizer (us) cancels or reschedules the event, we will inform you and offer a refund of the face value of your tickets or transfer of tickets to a new date. In such cases, we will use reasonable efforts to process refunds promptly. If the event proceeds as scheduled, you are responsible for attending; refunds for change of mind or inability to attend are not available. Any voluntary reselling or transfer of tickets by you is at your own risk, and we are not responsible for lost or stolen tickets. We may impose additional terms (e.g. ID requirements) for event entry, as notified at the time of sale.

Charitable Donations:

By making a donation (one-time or recurring), you support our charitable aims. Donations are generally non-refundable. We allocate donations to fund our philanthropic activities, and we cannot exchange donations for goods or services. If you believe a transaction was made in error, please contact us within 30 days; at our discretion we may issue a refund, but this is not guaranteed. If you request Gift Aid with your donation, you confirm you are a UK taxpayer and meet HMRC criteria for Gift Aid. Personal data collected for processing donations (name, address, payment info) will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.

We use secure payment gateways to process transactions. Although we take reasonable care to secure your data, the internet is not completely secure; we disclaim liability if third parties intercept your information during transmission. All prices are correct at the time of ordering. We do not add hidden charges – any applicable taxes, shipping costs or fees are displayed before you confirm payment, in compliance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Intellectual Property

All content on this Site – including text, images, logos, designs, graphics, trademarks and software – is the intellectual property of Knights Templar Worcestershire Provincial Priory or its licensors. It is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws worldwide. We (or the original licensors) own or control all rights to the Site’s content. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from any material on this Site without our prior written permission. Any unauthorised use of the Site’s content may violate copyright, trademark and other laws. All rights are expressly reserved.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the organisation (and its officers, employees and agents) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the Site, from goods purchased, or from attendance at events. This includes (without limitation) any loss of profits, business interruption, loss of programs or data, or losses arising from computer viruses, malware or hacking. We make no warranties about the accuracy, reliability or completeness of any Site content, or that the Site will operate without interruption. While we endeavour to use secure systems for payments, we cannot guarantee internet security; we will not be liable for losses if a third party unlawfully intercepts or obtains your data during transmission. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or other liability which cannot be excluded under UK law. Statutory rights you may have as a consumer (for example, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015) are unaffected by these disclaimers.

External Links

The Site may contain links to external websites or resources for your convenience. These links are provided only as a courtesy. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content or availability of any third-party sites. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by us of that site or any association with its operators. If you choose to follow a link, you do so at your own risk; you should review the terms and privacy practices of any external site before using it.

Privacy and Data Protection

We respect your privacy and handle personal data in accordance with applicable UK laws (the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018) and our Privacy Policy. By using the Site (including making purchases or donations), you consent to the collection, storage and processing of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Details about what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can exercise your privacy rights can be found in the Privacy Policy linked on the Site. In particular, payment information is collected by our secure payment provider; we do not store credit card details on our servers. If you have any questions about data protection on this Site, please contact us.

Modifications

We may revise or supplement these Terms from time to time. Any amended Terms will be posted on the Site and will take effect immediately upon posting, except that such changes will not affect orders we have already confirmed. It is your responsibility to check the Terms whenever you use the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Company, its managers, directors, employees, agents, and third parties, for any costs, losses, expenses (including solicitors’ fees), liabilities regarding or arising out of your enjoyment of or inability to enjoy the Site or its services and Company’s services and products, your violation of the Terms or your violation of any rights of third parties, or your violation of the applicable law. This may assume the exclusive defence and you shall cooperate with the Company in asserting any available defences.

Termination and Access Restriction

The Company may terminate your access and account to the Site and its related services or any part at any time, without notice, in case of your violation of the Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms and any contract formed through your use of the Site are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms, including sales contracts for goods or services purchased on the Site, will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. These Terms are written in English; any translations are provided for convenience only and in case of conflict the English version prevails.

Note: These Terms and Conditions should be read together with our Privacy Policy (which also governs the use of personal data) and any specific terms posted with particular services or products. By using the Site, purchasing goods, or making donations, you agree to all applicable Terms and Policies.
